This is an aged Belgian red ale, which is ‘ripened quietly in oak barrels for two years’, according to the label. It has an extremely pungent aroma of rich grapey fruit, with acidic notes, very much like a slightly sour red wine or possibly a gueuze. In the mouth it is slightly sweet, extremely acidic and fruity, with grapes and even cherries discernible, and very lively. Despite the sweetness it is not at all cloying, even thin, with little or no trace of malt. Finish is sharp and fruity

Au nez, du vieux bois, de la poussière, des cerises et/ou raisons rouges... En bouche, belle acidité franche mais pas envahissante, avec un rappel gustatif de ce que l'olfactif avait détecté. J'ai adoré cette bière.

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy deep ruby/brown pour, thin soapy off-white layer on top. Minimal lacing. Sour nose, acidic, vinegar, fruity background. Interesting. Medium body, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, goes down quite nicely. Sour taste nicely balanced with subtle sweetness underneath, well balanced. Vinegar fruity aroma, notes of sour cherries, prunes, candy, molasses. Subtle liquory notes. Woody. Quite dry. Short to medium lasting finish. Well balanced and quite tasty. Very good.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours a deep brown reddish. Aromas of sweet berries, tart and brown sugar. Very boozy aswell. Taste is sour with some elderflower, vinegar, unripe dark fruits. Slight malt and quite earthy.
