Dwójniak Klasztorny mead brings back the rich heritage of metheglins created in monastery cellars. The metheglin-making tradition, passed on for centuries from one generation of monks to another, is no longer their innermost secret. Their commitment to creating what’s good has been preserved in the form of some delicious recipes, and this mead is the reward for the patience of those who strove to bring them back.
Based on mellow nectarous honey, it is produced from honey mash, with the proportions 1 part honey to 1 part water. Its several-year-long maturing provides it with a piquant taste and aroma. It contains 16% alcohol.

Flat, slightly cloudy deep amber color. Aroma is slightly sweet boozy, nuts, toasted honey, alcohol, minerals, bark, fruit stones, leafs. Taste is sweet boozy, honey, fruit stones, dried dark fruits, bark, minerals, alcohol, dark sugar, grass, herbs. Sweet sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Nice.

Très belle bouteille de 25cl en argile, bouchonnée. Lot# 51411 de Stanpol, Warsaw. Couleur cuivrée, huileux au verre légèrement doré. Arôme au bouquet fort prenant mielleux sur notes de caramel, rétro sucré et fleuri. Palais est épais, liquoreux, pointe de caramel, résiduel organique sucré. Une sensation de réchauffement perdure des 16% de cet hydromel mais sans être surfait. A redécouvrir, un point en dessous d’autres versons de Apis.
