Birra nera ad alta fermentazione, non pastorizzata, non filtrata e rifermentata in bottiglia. Senza aggiunta di anidride carbonica, stabilizzanti e conservanti. Prodotta con fiocchi d’avena, malti d’orzo di differenti tostature e con una piccola percentuale di malti affumicati essiccati sopra fuochi di legno di faggio. Servire in un bicchiere svasato con abbondante schiuma.
L’unica birra prodotta seguendo un vero e proprio stile l’Oatmeal Stout (entra nella categoria delle dry-stout per la sua facile beva e il tenore alcolico attenuato 5.4. Birra scura con l’avena “Oatmeal” che contribuisce ad ammorbidire il prodotto). Una leggera percentuale di malti affumicati donano una sensazione fumè molto delicata.

Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours black with creamy cappuccino foam. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, some toffee. Body is medium and slightly oily, worth a round feeling. Some tongue tickling. Taste starts sweet, with some bitterness coming up later. Finish is short. Maybe a little too much carbonation.

Tap at the Kamun Lab Pub, Genoa. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of Light roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Light sweetness, medium to heavy roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite thin texture, soft carbonation. Finish is dry and slightly sour.

Cask at the brewpub in Genoa. A murky dark brown coloured pour with a a creamy light tan head. Aroma is smokey wood, vanilla, oak, meaty,.. Flavour is composed of sweet coco, chocolate powder milky roast, dark fruit, prune. Palate is flat and milky, medium bodied. Chocolate and tangy fruit lingering.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable bubbly beige head, very dark brown color, aroma of toasted bread and roasted coffee with chocolate cake in the back, dark bread flavor with some smokey notes and dark chocolate in the back, light mellow bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Max. Dark brown to black. Aroma of roastiness, coffee, vegetal note, some chocolate. Rather dry flavor with light sweetness, sourish hint, roast, some coffee, some chocolate. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Draft sample @ Birra Expo’14, Piacenza. Brune foncée, col beige crémeux blanc cassé. Arôme est malté grillé, léger chocolaté caramel avec une petite pointe de réglisse et choco fondant. Palais est profond au niveau caractère malté, avoine goodness, léger fini café/chocolaté tout en restant très légère. Amertume pointe son nez en fin de bouche et apporte une petite touche UK noble. Fini grillé sur un petit résiduel fumé?

Cloudy dark brown color; creamy head. Breadish aroma of roasted malt. Smooth mouthfeel; creamy/milky flavor, roasted malt and dark chocolate; sweeter front, dryish final, probably because of some residual yeast.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
