Can. Golden yellow with large whitish foamy head, malt aroma, high carbonation, very little bitterness, abrupt finish. Generic lager, not too bad.

640ml bottle at home, shared with a friend who’s wife brought it back from a cycling holiday to Burma/Myanmar. Mid golden body, weak white head: typical lager look really. Corn, grainy aroma and taste: nothing bad, nothing good, just a bog standard semi-sweet Lager/Pilsner.

640ml bottle in Singapore. Grainy smooth beginning. Easy to drink with grain in the aftertaste. Malt, grain, moderate sweetish. Not too bad.

Can straight from Yangon, thanks very much Marie! Thin, loose, irregular, snow white head dissipating quickly but leaving a thin rim around the glass and a wafer thin, disparate veil on the surface. Pure golden blonde, cristal clear robe with only a few minute bubbles here and there. Not very inviting aroma of sourish grains, retted flax, smelly socks, wet cardboard, damp and dirty washcloth, soaked bread, fermenting grass. Neutral onset, very minerally with tingling carbo but not as much as in most industrial pale lagers resulting in a rather flat and watery mouthfeel; a very vague malty, bready sweetness comes up but not the expected rice sweetness, while a grainy sourishness prevails. The unmistakable metallic ’zing’ is there and apart from a faint grassy hoppiness briefly noticeable somewhere at the back and feeling a tad chemical, there is no bitterness worth mentioning; grainy sourishness continues, while the vague bready sweetishness remains in the end. Below average even for a tropical lager, very neutral, very watery and a bit offensive even in the nose, but served cold, I can imagine this being acceptable in the oriental sun as a thirst quencher. Good for a country tick too...

Backlog 2012, Yangon, bottle & tap. Nice hoppy nose, hay, bit sweet. Pale golden colour, clear, minimal head. Medium bitter flavour, light-bodied, fizzy (when draught), soft (when bottled). Surprisingly nice lager, refereshing, not bad at all. Drank it at several places in Birma while visiting the country in 2012. Probably the best beer of the country.

Canned@AIH53. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grains, rubber, some slight sweetish notes. Flavour is quite similar with some rather dusty, but sweetish notes. Enjoyed snow cold. Probably why it actually feels drinkable.

Can 330ml (AIH53, BB 07/2015)
Thanks Pirjo! Beer country #154. Orange-golden color, small white head, some lace. Light nose has green apple and honey. Light-bodied. Flavor has lots of green apple and some honey. Light grainy notes. Quite usual sweetish fruity industrial lager. Not the worst one I’ve had.

640 ml bottle from Uwajimaya. Hate to support the regime, but a tick is a tick! Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A light fruity nose. This is a clean, basic lager: honey, a bit of dirty malt but overall pretty clean, apples, some overripe berries. OK beer. Good on 40c days in Rangoon I expect.
