18/VIII/14 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: II/2015 (2014-927) Thanks to Bene for picking this one up!

Clear ruby red to purple brown beer, irregular beige small head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: toast, very nutty, some chocolate and yes, hazelnut. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, sourish touch, lots of hazelnut flavour, some mocha. Aftertaste: cocoa powder, nutty, toast, little sour, some caramel, vanilla, hoppy touch. Interesting, not too bad.

The hazelnut blends perfectly with the sweet brown ale for a nice nutty, smooth experience. Nutty aroma, some roast grain bitterness, sweet and bitter finish. Delicious at any time of the year.

(Bottle) Clear mid brown with a modest off-white head. Pleasant aroma with quite a bit going on - definitely nutty, also smokey hints, perhaps dark chocolate and toasted muesli. Light body, good carbonation. Taste is excellent and unusual. It’s basically a good brown ale with plenty more going on, mainly a rich nuttiness develops around the mid palate, followed by some lovely toasty and chocolate notes. This is a very nice and unusual beer.

From Newport, Oregon to Newport Beach, California: on-tap in The Yard House, on 13th March 2014. Came a hazy mahogany brown with an off-white collar. It had an aroma and taste of sweet malty molasses and nuts with an undercurrent of honey notes (or maybe the nectar in the name made be think there was honey about?). Different and pleasing, one was enough though.
