’09 notes tap @ CCB. Regular Bolita with a new twist and just like the Maduro, this beer is prone to have many off shots and does fare well for new experiments. aroma, as soon as the tap begins to flow you get a nice herbal Chai nose while the coconut is more subdued. taste, Chai is well present, adds a nice herbal twist to the beer and some sweetness. The coconut remains light on the palate with some hints of chocolate that keeps a very forward malt profile with the oats giving the beer a nice / thick mouthfeel. Chai is unique and recommend trying some Chai tea to see how much it adds to this beer.

Draft at CCB BA Big Sound release party. The pours deep copper amber-ish with gold edges and nice tan head with some lasting retention too. The aroma is full of winter beer spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and other spice notes I can’t really pin down. I think I’m getting a faint hint of chocolate in there somewhere. The taste is the same as the aroma with loads of up front winter spices cinnamon and nutmeg and other spices mixing with the lesser sweet malts and roastiness - nuttiness of the base beer rounding out the flavor. A bit on the spicy side.
