’09 notes Draft @ CCB release party. Bolita base. aroma of coffee, espresso, light coconut and some cacao/chocolate. taste, coffee espresso, coconut flakes add a nice silky palate with some nutty undertones, medium carbonation with the coconut becoming more present as the beer warmed up. Just like the Maduro version, the coffee espresso adds a nice coffee blend without giving the bitterness of regular coffee. Highly drinkable, this one is sure to drive you Loco. Smooth palate and gets better as you let it warm up a bit. Overall, I found this beer to be more complex than the regular coconut.

Draft at CCB BA Big Sound release party. It pours dark brown with lasting tan head. The aroma is largely dark roasted coffee then moving into Bolita malty rich roastiness, staying clear of highly roasted, and some nuttiness. There is a faint sense of cacao in the aroma and if I didn’t’ already know it was there I wouldn’t have noticed. The taste at first seems very much like the regular Bolita with thick rich tasty sweet malt, roast and nutty notes. Behind that are pleasing layers of cacao and Navarro deep dark roasted coffee beans and the associated chicory goodness. Plenty tasty.
