Pours clear reddish brown color with tan head. Aromas of toasted malts, rye and pine hops. Slightly roasty flavor with some spicy rye and moderate bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation.

Bottle thanks to Sean! Poured a clear dark amber with a gray head. Aroma had a strong rye malt presence with an underlying light but crisp hop. Flavor began with a strong pine hop, but the spice of the rye grew towards the finish.

Pour is a brown with a small tan head. Aroma is nice with a nice spicy rye with a equally nice citrus pine hop. Flavor is big earthy malts wih again a huge helping of the rye. The hops do not make that much of an appearance but only b/c the rye is so up front. This was a nice find.

12oz bottle. Deep burgundy- toffee color. Thick, steady beige head. Rye and a solid piny hop aroma. Big and bold rye flavor, toasty burnt gingerbread tones with a cool, crisp hop backbone. Rather bitter, somewhere between medium and full-bodied. Not unlike other new school Black IPAs, albeit more brown in color. A pretty nice beer, another quality "Unchained" venture.

Bottle: Pours a true amber with a large, sticky beige head. Lots of sheet lacing. Aroma is floral, caramel, and the rye. Taste is very similar. Nice balance of florals, rye, citrus, and sort of peppery. Tastey.
