Brewed since 1911, originally by Brouwerij Den Os in Bruges owned by the renowned Van Houtryve family. In 1957 was closed but Bourgogne des Flandres continued to be brewed a.o. by Verhaeghe. From 1985 onwards Bourgogne des Flandres was brewed at the Timmermans brewery. Since 2015 it's brewed in Bruges again, in a brand new brewery, still with Timmerman's lambic.

330ml bottle at 't Poatersgat, Brugge. Pours dark brown with a white head. Aromas & tastes of cherry, banana, nuts, herbs, hops & malt. Medium body. Slightly sour light bitter finish.

Color marrón rojizo oscuro, espuma beige cremosa de retención media. Complejo y atractivo aroma con matices de vinagre balsámico, tabaco negro, madera. En boca es vinosa, ligeramente ácida, algo agridulce, notas de malta tostada, caramelo, vinagre balsámico, ciruela roja, especias...Rica y disfrutable

Aromas are malt, fresh tobacco, spice, leather and a little vinegar. Flavors are similar to nose, sweet tart with medium body and good carbonation. Finish is mildly sweet. Good but not great.

Aroma of malt, caramel, sweet red fruits, sour cherries, wood. Flavour is moderate sweet and light sour. Body and mouthfeel are good. I would have liked more sourness and less sweetness.

Aroma of tart red fruit, sweet fruit, a touch of oak. Flavour is light tart and heavy sweetness, enough sweetness to kind of ruin this beer for me, as I was hoping for a sour beer.

Аромат очень солодовый, легкая карамель, нотки сухофруктов. Цвет красный на просвет, пена стойкая. Вкус вообще не похож ни на один Фларендский красный эль. Сам по себе питкий, весьма необычная сладость от сухофруктов, яблок и ягод. При послевкусие вода. легкая кислинка и нотки карамели, совсем легкой. Удивительно но пиво чем то напоминает Ламбик Фаро. Хорошо подойдет для женщин.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Clear brown with an red glow and the taste is more sweet than sour, hint of cherries and sweet apples. Who want to learn this beerstyle, this one is good to start with.
