On tap at Good Beer Week 2019 Launch Gala. Pours almost orange, but bereft of haze. Lots of citrus on nose. Strong grapefruit flavours. The bitterness keeps up thankfully. Very nicely done.

From a 355ml can on 22/2/2019. Pours a clear medium golden with a smallish head. Has a fairly distinct sharp citrus nose. The flavour basically follows suit - lots of sweet citrus, along with lemon, grapefruit and a touch of pine in the tart, almost sour finsh. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Interesting enough if not necessarily a real winner.

Can. Gold with a cm of white head. Assertive aroma of citrus, under-ripe tropical fruit and herbs, some crackers lurk behind. There's grapefruit and herbal lemon notes - wouldn't have guessed a grapefruit addition. But I would from the taste - it has a smooth juiciness that complements the bitter notes rather than amplifies them. Clever, nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of The Middleman Grapefruit IPA on 08 Jan 2019 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.
