Big can. Amber. Big pine and grapefruit nose. Lovely old school very hop forward west coaster. But with hefty almost caramel malts bring some sweetness and backbone. Might be best Aussie DIPA of the year thus far.

From a 500ml can on 8/4/2019. Pours a clear medium golden with a smallish head. Has a mild herbal, fruity nose. In the mouth, it's really sweet, with lots of pineapple, mango some light caramel, with a slightly sharp, pretty firm, resiny hop bitterness finishing of proceedings. The texture is slightly syrupy and the carbonation moderate. It's intense and flavoursome, but a little bit too cloying and lacking in balance to really impress.

Can. Clear amber with nearly an inch of white head. Aroma of kumquats, mango skin, pine, a little bread crust. Some grapefruit and herbs. Brooding. Only a little more than medium bodied, carbonation is on the low side of moderate. Very sweet but so clean it doesn't feel heavy (bit of a Kaiju signature, that). It's rather less resinous than I'd have guessed, so that whilst there's burst of citrus and tropical fruit it yields gently to a long and fairly bitter finish rather than the piney blast I was expecting from the aroma. But that's fine. Good stuff.
