A deceptive golden glow of pale straw it looks like an innocent beer but don't let that fool you.

Your nasal hairs will be moshing along to the spice stone fruit aromas of our hops. From your first sniff you will know it isn't just another regular old Pale.

The deep rumble of complex spicy hop flavours doesn't hold back from a night's shredding. It's got a bit extra going on versus the standard beer. At 5.6% ABV it leaves room for an unforgettable harmony of chords that don't just sound the same.

375ml can from Monster and Beer, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a hazy orange light amber colour, with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, tangerine citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a fresh, crisp, juicy, light tart orange/tangerine, mineral, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

(Can) Pours cloudy Amber with modest white head. Nice aroma - plenty of pine with floral and pepper notes. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Well balanced taste with plenty of hops giving a nice fresh start and crisp bitterness through the mid palate into the finish, over a biscuit malt with a hint of sweetness. Very drinkable.

Can. Dull amber with a white head. 3- Aroma is some way off vibrant but has some kumquat, tropical fruit and light biscuit. Perhaps a little cleaner than expected with sweet and somewhat biscuity malt yielding to citrus and a moderately bitter finish nicely. Refreshing. --- Beer merged from original tick of Heavy Handed XPA on 03 Oct 2019 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Can. From a 375ml can on 16/7/2019. Pours a clear medium golden with a smallish head. The nose is grassy, herbal and slightly honeyed. Taste wise, you get some biscuit and caramel malt, and some citrus and grass. It finishes with a slightly astringent, chemical bitterness which takes away from the overall experience. So much so that it actually seems much heavier than its modest 5.2%. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sadly, the first Fox Hat brew that has left me a bit disappointed. Their Lusty Lager is much better than this.
