On tap at BrewDog Kungsholmen. Almost black with a tan head. Aroma of malt, licorice, light fruit, some caramel and notes of alcohol. Similar taste. Sweet and with a long finish.

Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Light black with a decent tan swirl. Nose is a little muted, chocolate, spice, toffee, mellow dark fruits. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, vanilla, spice, earthy, dark fruit rinds, toffee fudge. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but lacking depth for the ABV.

@Borefts 2015, van tap, zwart met fijne bruine kraag. aroma van trekdrop, het lijkt wel wat op een BIPA.... smaken zijn zoet, redelijk bitter, volmoutig, maar wacht ff is dit een Barley Wine..... ik zou eerder zeggen dat het een BIPA zou zijn. verder veel te bitter. en niet erg goed

Flavoured dark barley wine, tasted at Borefts and yesterday in Stefan’s cellar, cheers. Dense, creamy, light beige head, colour a very dark burgundy, blackish in the middle. Rich, perfumey aroma, cocoa, red wine, dates, blackcurrant, vanilla, toasted bread, butterscotch, sweet sherry, wet wood, candied fruit, lots of candied fig, hazelnut oil, pepper. Refinedly sweet onset with almost seaweed-like umami flavour surrounding it, medium carbo, vinous mouthfeel, deep caramelly malt body, long and complex finish of vanilla, liqueurish warming alcohol, peppery hops, bittersweet and totally satisfying, with a light roasty edge. Fantastic, if you’re into this style like I am, but coming across as a hybrid between RIS and barley wine - which in itself is never a problem, obviously.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Dark brown to black, small white head. Nose is cacao, artificial candy, chocolate, sugar, artificial sweet chocolate, touch vanilla. Taste is sweet artificial syrup, maple, cacao puffs, chocolate marshmallows, fake vanilla, sugar, candy, oddly sweet. Artificial body & taste. Odd but def. not bad in a candy & kind of odd fashion.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, hops and chocolate in the nose. Strong roasted malt, dark chocolate, heavy licorice and noticable alcohol with notes of vanilla and oak in rather bitter finish. Decent brew.

Tap at Borefts. Black with beige head. Light chocolate, lots of molasses and brown sugar, quite alcoholic, light marzipan and spices. Quite sweet with roasted bitter finish. Over medium bodied with alcoholic finish.

Clear dark brown beer, small irregular off-white head, almost non existing. Aroma: sweet, pretty fruity, soft roast, bit dusty, sweet. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet, caramel, alcohol, some coffee, vanilla touch. Aftertaste: pretty hoppy, fruity, some citrus, sweet, caramel, hoppy, mocha, bourbon touch.
