Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Attractive rich malty aroma, something like Christmas pudding, I mean a boozy Christmas pudding, but the same dark malt and dark fruits. No doubt I like the aroma. The initial taste again I like, yes a touch of heat on the finish but definitely not boozy. The Christmas pud flavours continue. Yes, I mean that’s good, really good. Makes me happy. Big slightly hot. But the fruit is amazingly good. Baked raisins. Don’t get huge hops. Not papery at all. Just big boozy malt and fruit. Like a brandy enraged Christmas pudding. Lovely.

Draught @Brewdog helsinki. Pours black with a thick lasting brown head. Roasty, some chocolate, wood and ashy/off notes. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Flavor has molasses, roasted malt, licorice, salmiakki. Mild spicy notes as well. Stuffy, heavy.

(Keg at BrewDog Helsinki, 20150909) The beer poured black. Its head was small, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had wood, vanilla, burnt malts, vineousness and booze. Palate was medium bodied, dry and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, wood, vanilla, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A messy brew. I could not find what was tried to be achieved with this brew.

Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki

Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, coffee, cocoa, oak, hints of berries and nuts. Taste is smooth, heavy and complex with some roastiness, loads of malts, hints of oak and toffee. Finish is heavy, slightly roasty and woody. Interesting.

Bottle. Black pour, off white head. Aroma of fruit, passion fruit, pine, roasted malt and some caramel. Flavor of passion fruit, licorice, candi sweets, raisin, choco, toffee, pine and a bitter dry-ish finish. Different and nice.
