Bottle. Brown with glints of red. A beige head is soon a coat. Vinous aroma with dough, chocolate, herbs. Medium bodied. Sweet (white) grape pizza, chocolate, some herbs, quite bitter and oaky. The sweetness is a little bland and there's not quite the presence you'd expect for 8.5% but the balance is very nice.

From a 500ml bottle on 8/9/2019 (shared by Butz with thanks). Has a mild caramel and toffee nse with a touch of Belgian yeast. Has a surprisingly subdued taste - chocolate and caramel, again with a bit of Belgian yeast. Don't really get much of the barrel ageing in this. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Fairly muted and disappointing.
