Bottle sample @ BBB. Pours hazy reddish brown with a small goldenish beige head that leaves a small ring of trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and fruity with caramel, biscuits, sweet dark bread, raisins, prunes, dried cherries, moist soil, moist wood, leather, vanilla, cognac alcohol and hints of peppery rye. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, malty, fruity and boozy. Mouthfeel is round, oily, slightly viscous, tiny fruity tart, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, slightly bitter and very tiny sour with caramel, sweet dark bread, vanilla fudge, raisins, prunes, dried cherries, dried bilberries, moist wood, leather, minerals and cognac alcohol. Very fruity and very cool. Heavy malt backbone and crazy fruity cognac presence. Tasty! --- Beer merged from original tick of Hand & Seal Aged In Cognac Barrels on 13 May 2015 at 21:10 - Score: 7

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VII on 09/25/2015. Dark brown color with some amber around the edges, and a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of cognac, malt, fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, cognac, earthy yeast and dark fruit. The finish is mildly boozy with a fruity aftertaste. Good beer all around.

750ml bottle I purchased to go from Max’s during their Rare and Obscure Part 8. Ghost bottle. Pours a murky, deep amber with some creamy, off white head. Nose has lots of nail polish, vegetal, dried orange peel, some honey comb. Flavor is sticky honey, candy, brandy, apple, booze, nail polish. Full bodied, sticky finish.
