Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Porridge and ginger biscuits combine well together in the nose. The texture is creamy and silky smooth. Roast malts and liquorice dominate thew flavour with molasses giving an overall sweetness. Finish is bitter and fruity with more liquorice. A nice restrained stout.

Cask, third, shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Brewery Microbars. Almost black in the glass, spotty lacing, bubbly surface. Promising aroma of berry-malts. Pleasant taste of oat, dark berries, and liquorice followed by a lightly roasted ending. Well balanced. Pleasing. (2nd day at the festival 23.01.2020).

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 21st April 2019. Deep sepia with light brown lacing foam. Rich roasted malt aroma. Burnt coffee, bitter chocolate and slightly smoky roastiness in-mouth. A satisfying finish of soft fruits, roasty malts and bitterness in the rear mouth. Medium bodied with an engaging texture, albeit served just a tad on the cold side.
