(750ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop) ~7mo past the BB date, oops. Whatever! Pours a clear deep gold with a small but lasting white head and lace. Aroma is quite tart, somewhat vinous, woody and a bit funky. Notes of citrus juice, sour plums, some other pit fruit, cider vinegar, green apple skins, hay, woody, cellar, a bit of grainy malt. Flavour is lightly sweet and lightly acidic, with notes of green apples and even some sweeter red apple, some peach/apricot, touches of malt sweetness, a little white wine grape, light earthy barnyard notes, hay, old wood with just a little younger oak bite, a touch astringent in the finish but not heavily tannic. Some vinous character long into the aftertaste. Very nicely balanced. Medium bodied and rather lightly carbonated. One of the better Brekeriet beers in this style I’ve had thanks to its deft melding of flavours, approaching lambic-like.

Sampled from bottle @ Kristiansand ølfestival 2015. Hazy golden body with a small white head. Nice aroma, citric fruit, grapefruit, funk and light caramel/honey. Flavor is mild, smooth malt, vinous, mild acidic, citric fruity, yeast, pepper, pleasant funky Brett and soft wood. Perfectly balanced body with a long lasting delicious aftertaste. Well balanced all the way, super smooth and so delicious. Best beer of the festival.

Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy dark blond color, small head. Smells like a Lambic, quite lemony, but also with cellar aromas. Dry mouthfeel with high carbonation, smooth; sour and lemony, to an acceptable level; quite astringent, mixing cellar character with lemon bitter peel.
Excellent Sour.

750mL bottle, pours an opaque golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite funky, with medium acidity, barnyard funk, and citrus skin. Flavour is along the same lines, with citrus skins, medium acidity, some barnyard, and lemon tang. Finishes fairly astringeny. Tangy, funky and quite complex. Not overly far off from a lambic - gueuze. Excellent.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with moderate head. Aromas of grapes, nectarines, and funk. Tart but not overly sharp flavors of Concorde grapes, light malts/wheat, and citrus; all with a bit of funkiness. Almost delicate but beautifully balanced for a sour. A great summertime easy to drink sour.

Keg at BD CJ. It pours lightly hazy golden orange with a small white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, citrus rind, stewed orange, stone fruits, funk, barnyard and spoiled yoghurt. The taste is crisp, tart, straw, earthy, funk, gooseberry, white grape, lemon rind, light sherbet, light acidity and wood with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, spritzy carbonation. Quite delicate actually. Crisp, balanced and quaffable. Very nice.
