A collaboration with our friends at Söder Om Småland. An Amber Ale hopped with Pacifica, Citra and Galaxy... then we threw in some maple chips just for shits and giggles. The perfect winter beer. A "dark beer" for all you "light beer lovers".

Draught at Söder om Småland, Malmö
Hazy dark amber color with red shades, creamy head. Aroma of caramel and some fruity hop, bitter oranges, light dust, ah some yeast! The mouthfeel is partly smooth and round, rather dry; caramel flavor with light residual sweetness; strong bitterness, then there are some hop resins and hop fruits, but not really shining; it has a light dusty touch too.
Good beer, not impressive though, it’s a bit hard.

Draught @ The Rover. Pours hazy amber with a rather small frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is fruity and tiny malty with biscuits, grapefruit juice, pine needles, resinous wood, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, caramel and hints of green apple skins. Taste is bitter, tiny fruity and tiny malty with biscuits, caramel, grapefruit juice, lemon zest, orange peal, unripe mango, pineapple, pine needles and resin. Mouthfeel is round, slightly watery, tiny astringent and light to medium bodied. finish is bitter and tiny fruity with biscuits, grapefruit juice, lemon zest, unripe mango, orange zest, pine needles and resin. Rather classic American Amber Ale that luckily for me lacks most of that overripe apple / compost character I tend to find in beers of the style. Refreshing and quite tasty... --- Beer merged from original tick of I Lönndom Pale Ale on 03 Feb 2014 at 18:27 - Score: 7
