Good Morning. You’ve woken up dead. You’re in ruins. But don’t be discouraged. Here’s a black stout to brighten your day. It’s deadly delicious with dark chocolate cake aromas and hints of dried fruit, licorice, and coffee. It’s a beast of a beer you’ll crave from beyond the grave.

12 oz. nitro bottle, from Dan. Pours black, with a medium, fine, frothy tan head. The aroma is light coffee and chocolate. Very sweet flavor, with just a little roasted bitterness. Heavy body, with a characteristically lively and velvety mouthfeel from the nitrogen. This is a relatively light and easy drinking imperial stout; smooth and tasty, but not very complex.

Bottle shared at Norwich Tap House. Pours close to black, with tan head. Aroma of mild roast chocolate. Smooth, good body, low carbonation. Medium sweetness. Enjoyed drinking this.

Draft ’09 version: Poured black color with whispery head. Aroma is sweet chocolate. Taste chocolate, rich malt, vanilla hints and a gritty full body finish.

Dark brown color. Tons of brownies, dark chocolate, fairly dry great backbone. Smooth and alcohol is well hidden. Very well made though not super complex. Decent beer.

355ml Flasche.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout on 23 Apr 2020 at 20:12 - Score: 7.

Bottle. Aroma has rich roasted malts. Chocolate, toffee, roasted. Dark fruits, plums, raisins. Almost black colour. Taste is from the first sip high in alcohol, with rich character. Chocolate and roasted, low on coffee. Background fruitiness. Very good one. Full body, but nicely drinkable.

Botella de 65 cl en el Lupulo. 17-12-13.
