Stillwater IPA? WTF, right? Well truth be told we love a good IPA just as much as the next guy and besides, whats more contemporary then a American IPA? The lean base of Pilsner malt with the lightest touch of caramel support this high definition blend of 5 different hops gathered from all over the world. Bright citrus, stone fruit, pine, earth, dank, and crisp.

Draught@CBC2015. Goldeny orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, some nectar, mild herbal and grassy notes with mild toffee. Flavour is very similar in a nice and fresh balance. Not overdoing the hopping.

Pour is a murky orange with an average white head. Aroma is a decent pine hop with a strong caramel malt backbone. Flavor is another nice dose of pine hops with more of a dryer malt. Finish is bitter and dry. Pretty solid IPA. Lots of bitterness and pine hops here.

Bottle. Hazy golden orange body with a short, frothy head, rapidly diminishing. Lots of yeast floating around. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, citrus, light toasted grain, caramel, orange peel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Taste of orange, citrus and grapefruit. More depth in the aroma and flavor than most IPAs — and more expensive, too. Bright hops. Less crisp than many IPAs, but I don’t mind that in this one.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear gold color with a minimal head. Nose has orange, honey, grapefruit, some grain and pine. Bitter on the palate with a touch of malt sweetness. Fairly heavy and filling with a slight oily finish that leaves a lingering bitterness. Solid but a little heavy. --- Beer merged from original tick of Stereo on 04 Jul 2015 at 21:24 - Score: 7
