A farmhouse style red ale brewed with aromatic speciality malt and rye for a spicy complexity. Secondary fermentation on red currents and sour cherries brings sweet fruity aromas. Yeast character of subtle clove and earthy funk.

In October 2014 half of the batch was released fresh and half was poured into French oak Red Burgundy barrels where we pitched the wild yeast strain Brettanomyces Lambicus. It was then tucked up and left to sleep. The barrel aged version will be released as a seperate beer.

A three-way collaboration between Beavertown, Mikkeller and Arizona Wilderness. Aged in Grand Marnier barrels.

Keg at Beavertown taproom/brewery, 29/11/14. Murked up rhubarb red with a decent crimson covering. Nose is light funk, red berry compote, tangy cherry, spice, sweet and sour notes. Taste comprises tangy red berries, spice, cherry infused straw, bitter red berry. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a trace of acidity and funk. Ok red berry saison, drinks well if a little 1D.

Keg at Euston Tap. It pours murky deep red with a small pink-white head. The nose is soft, forest fruits, cherry, grape, light spice, creaminess and earth/barnyard. The taste is crisp, tart, sherbet, cherry, grape skin, redcurrant, lactic, cheesecake, lemon-lime rind and some acidity with a short, fruity finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice fruity tartness about. Not as much depth of flavour, as I had hoped for, bit decent stuff anyhow.

Brewdog Shepherds Bush. Keg. As ’Sour Power’ Hazy red - amber beer, small white head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Tart sour generic fruits. Little vinegar and acetic character. Light crisp finish. A little too sour for me.

From tap at What’s Brewing smaksfest 14.11.14. Muddy pink. Looks like a smoothie. Very small head. Grain and red berries in aroma. Very sour taste, with red currants and yeast. Quite heavy mouthfeel.

Keg at the brewery as "power sour" redcurrant and sour cherry season 6%. Clouded deep purple / red coloured pour with a lasting thin pink head. Aroma is musty sweet and sour cherry fruit with a little raspberry, tart. Flavour is composed of tart black cherry, sharp sourness, fruity raspberry. Palate is sweet and sour, clean acid zing and bone dry tannin finish. Fruity with approachable clean sourness.
