The husband of the Femme Fatale, an ‘irresistible’ lovely dark beer wherein not less than 5 kinds of malt are used. The beautiful foam lingers towards caramel with a light hint at hops. The malty flavour evolves into fine bitterness that lingers on nicely. EBC 115.

10/8/7/7/fl/7

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, amber to copper colour with a beige and dense medium-sized foamy head. Caramelly malty and citrus-/lemon-fruity, slightly zesty aroma with notes of ginger and coriander. Slightly sweet flavour, rather light bodied with a calm carbonation. Fruity and cara-malty taste with bearable spicy notes; a bit slim fruity and malty finish with a delicate bitterness. Nice one, unfortunately a tad too slim. 24.V.11

Bottle at home in London. Pours a clearish, copper-brown with a soft, off-white head. Nose holds some berries, alcohol and toasted malts. Flavor is lightly sweet, a little tart (not sure it should be...), with some spices and grass. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Kind of a tart, lightly sour maltiness in the finish, more Christmasy spices. A bit weird, and maybe a bit out of code.

Bottled 330ml (Beer Planet)
Murky brown color, small beige head. Strong nose: dried dark fruits (dates), dark bread, toffee and soy sauce. Medium-bodied, crisp carbonation. Flavor is similar to aroma. It has dark fruits like dates and overriped raisins, even overriped banana. It has also strange wibe, soy sauce? balsamico? I wonder how fresh this bottle is.

Bottle in Delirium. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Dark and rather sweet. Metallic note. Just a rather bland lightly sweet brown beer. Ok. Not exciting.

Bottled (From BelgianShop). Hazy rubyish brown colour with mediumsized creamy berige head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel malts, some slight grassy notes as well as earth and yeast. Flavour is quite much the same along with dark dry fruits and liquorice as well. Feels a bit thin, even though it’s 6.5%.
