Drop the dressing and ditch the pumpkin, Sweet Potato Casserole is fresh out of the oven and ready to party. This fall treat is just like moms used to make - only if moms had penchant for gooey marshmallow, fall spices, and gobs of sweet potato cavorting in one sinful glass. Bottoms up.

Tap at Route CBC. It pours hazy amber with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is sweet potato pie, earthy, squashy, honeyed carbs, cereal and cake. The taste is sweet, sticky, squash, spice, sweet potato, toasty sugars and some stewed orange with a sweet finish. Too one-dimensional and sweet in my opinion. Fun to try, but not one I would return to!

Bottle courtesy of Håkan. Pours very hazy burnt orange with a small offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace while dissipating. Smell is tiny malty, slightly fruity, slightly vegetal and spicy with white bread, caramel, apples, pears, sweet potato, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, hay, minerals and orange peal. Taste is slightly sweet, very tiny sour, fruity and spicy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny tart, slightly spicy astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, tiny bitter and very tiny sour with bread, apples, unripe pears, cinnamon, hay, minerals and orange zest. Solid vegetable beer. I expected something sweet and cloying but this is very easy to drink. --- Beer merged from original tick of Funky Buddha Sweet Potato Casserole on 18 Sep 2015 at 22:33 - Score: 7. Amazing put together for a beer that I didn’t know what to expect from. Totally tastes like sweet potato with some floral aromas. Some kind of pie like merengue in here as well. Finishes with a touch of bitterness along with some sweetness that isn’t overdone. Average carbonation. Tap at brewery.
