Wildflower mead aged in rye whiskey barrels.

Once upon a time a friendly giant was imprisoned inside a rye whiskey barrel. For over a year he sat in silence and total darkness before finally falling asleep. In time the world forgot about him until one day, a brave bearded man discovered the giant and gave him a new home inside this bottle. Those who are timid should let sleeping giants lie. The valiant can uncork the bottle and awaken the Sleeping Giant

Still yet another 375 ml bottle thanks to Willrunforbeer. Clear pale yellow color. Aroma is acetone, booze and honey.

The flavor is large sweetness upfront with clover honey, oak, weak ginger and yes... That sharp booze in the finish. I don’t know... Sweet and boozy really isn’t my thing.

This mead is a very pale yellow almost straw-color mead from Brian (thanks!). This one has a lot of orange, melon, grape, honey aroma. You certainly get the acetone and booze at the middle and finish. A ton of honey, very thin, insanely boozy with a lot of apples and pears and spicy rye whiskey. Intense taste. this is just all booze.

Bottle courtesy of Håkan. Pours tiny cloudy pale golden leaving some prominent beautiful legs on the glass. Smell is floral and boozy with honey, pollen, vanilla fudge, charred wood, hay, Sichuan pepper and lemon peal. Taste is sweet, floral and boozy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet with honey, pale caramel, pollen, vanilla fudge, charred wood, black pepper corns, hay and bourbon alcohol. Love the pollen rich honey and light black pepper corn rye barrel but this is hot. Damn hot! I would have love to have another bottle to keep for a couple of years more for reference. --- Beer merged from original tick of B. Nektar Sleeping Giant on 19 Sep 2015 at 02:06 - Score: 8

Bottle. Light hazy golden liquid with small white head. Aroma of whisky, wood, alcohol, acetone, honey and sweet fruit. Taste is medium sweet with notes of sugar, honey, alcohol, whisky, acetone and acetone. Full bodied with low carbonation. Very boozy but complex. Nice but not too different from my home brew.
