Our infamous Black Tuesday is an Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon barrels for over a year. Rich caramel, toasted malt, vanilla, burnt wood, anise are just a few of the many flavors of this rich, decadent imperial stout.
Black Tuesday, our barrel aged stout, created quite a stir at our humble brewery amassing an unexpected response from craft beer lovers around the nation. It didn't come as a huge surprise that people were in love with our deep, dark, rich and nearly 20% abv beer that ages in bourbon barrels for well over a year, but the instantaneous success of the beer was definitely a shock. ABV: varies, IBU: 40,

Sampled 2025 . No (none) negative age influences yet. Still thick, less sweet than a fresh one usually is, still bourbon but not as hot. 'drinkable', even at nearly 20 ABV. This aged gracefully; it rounded out just as you'd hope to. Overall, great beer (I always seem to enjoy BT) , great vintage, and greatly aged.

Bottleshare XX in De Beugel (brought by yours truly). Pitch black colour, small brownish head. Aroma's: boozy, sweet, molasses, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, intense but balanced. Flavour is heavy sweet, syruppy, bourbon. Strong alcohol feel, but not at all too hot or burning. Full bodied, syruppy. Long finish. This is how I imagined BT to be before I ever had it, but apparently you have to store it for 10 years. Highlight of the evening if I may say so myself, but I wasn't the only one who thought so.

Side by side with 2013. Still boozy, of course, but does seem to be getting a bit old. Flavours are muddled, bit of vanilla, mellow bourbon. Considering the ABV, it's quite easy drinking.

Thanks to Beer Savant for sharing a bottle during his 50th birthday bash. Pours inky black with a medium light brown head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Aroma of bourbon, coffee and dark fruit. Rich and velvety body with flavors of oaky bourbon, dark chocolate, raisins and vanilla. The finish is sweet molasses and malt and leaves a lingering chocolate cherry liqueur aftertaste. Very good all around.
