On a pilgrimmage for immortal craft beer we tripped on these heavenly coffee beans -- threw them in and created damn good aromas, a thick fudge-like body, pitch black color and obviously only made it in limited amounts. And the taste.... furthermore Jesus!

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roated matl, chocolate, coffee, oat, licorice, leather and hint of alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long roasted, coffee, chocolate and bitter finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A black one, topped by a finger-thick, dense, tan head. Lots of dark, strong coffee-ness in the aroma, seems to be oats as well in there. Dark chocolate and hints of alcohol. It’s full-bodied as hell, with a pleasant carbonation level and some warmth from the alcohol. Quite dry, even though it feels sweet when sipped. Lots of flavors as well, dark chocolate, coffee and some molasses. Really long finish. It’s a bit too coffee-bitter in the finish I think, but then I don’t like coffee. Really nice anyway. 130808

12 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small tan / light brown head. Aroma brings out loads of fresh coffee beans upfront, with secondary notes of roasted malt and cocoa beans. Flavour brings out pungent coffee beans, with medium roasted malt, and a perfect amount of vanilla-like sweetness which balances everything out. Not nearly as dry as the regular An Ms a Jess, with more coffee (duh) and more vanilla. Amazingly well-rounded, rich, and elegant. A most excellent beer - one of Evil Twin's best.

Bottle for Friday evening. Pours black with nice purplish brown head. Nose of chocolate and coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate, cola, bitter coffee, molasss, resin, ash, some hopping, vanilla, and cane sugar. Creamy palate and lingering finish.

Bottle. Pours with a near black hued pour with a lasting deep tan head. Aromas are of coffee and chocolate nougat, medium smoke, iodine, floral, red berries, bakers chocolate. Lightly sweet churro dough. Flavor are of charcoal, roast, burnt malt, bitter astringency, mineral coffee. Rich and with somewhat lively carbonation. So much dark roast that the drinkability suffers. Coffee makes it up, but it is a bit vegital at this point. Components of this beer are very, very good, but it is also very hard to drink!!

Pours black. There’s a little brown at the edges. Heavy light brown head, a blanket of fine bubbles. The liquid appears thick and leaves a slick coating on the glass with each swirl. It doesn’t quite have legs, but we’re in the ballpark. No lacing, but it’s not exactly expected. The aroma is dark chocolate and caramel wrapped around fancy, fruity coffee beans. It smells luxurious. I want to eat it in fudge form. There’s a light vinous note, along with some blackberries, but this is a chocolate bomb with well integrated caramel and coffee. The taste is sweet without a hint of cloy. Tons of dark chocolate, perfectly integrated coffee. The coffee is fairly strong but never takes over or gets in the way of other flavors. Big molasses, blackberry, lighter chocolate, mocha. Very well hidden alcohol. Smooth, thick, rich feel. Velvety chocolate cake. Very well made beer. I continue to be impressed by Evil Twin’s work in stouts. Fun to try something brewed in Spain.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium dark brown head that dissipates fairly quickly but laces pretty well. Aroma is very roasty, coffee, anise, molasses. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and quite bitter - almost too bitter actually. Full body, creamy. Nice, but the regular Aun Mas is better.
