Duvel is traditionally brewed with two hop varieties.
Duvel Tripel Hop is brewed with three hop varieties and each year the third hop is changed to provide its own unique taste and aroma. This keeps the final flavor profile surprisingly exciting for any true beer lover.

(Bottle, 2010 vintage) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, pineapple, citrus, grapefruit, coriander, doughy malt, grass, floral hops and a spicy yeast aroma. Malty, hoppy taste with bread, pineapple, peaches, unripe mango, black-currant, marzipan, spicy yeast, coriander, hay and a generous citric, grassy bitterness in a finish with a touch of warming alcohol. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, with a generous hop character and well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

Bottle split at CBC Clerko tasting, thanks to Brian, 07/07/16. Pale yellow with a decent off white cap. Nose is dank hop exhaust, citric kissed straw, pissy notes, lemon rind, hay. Taste comprises light pine bite, lemon rind, tangerine, straw, bread dough, yeast esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a hoppy rasp. Drinks well for the ABV.

Bottle (from saveur-biere) as duvel tripel hop 1. Pours hazy yellow with huge white head. The head stays. Aroma is basically the same as classic Duvel: Belgian yeast, fruits and spices, maybe a bit more citrus. Aroma is also mostly classic Duvel: sweet, sour, and bitter, yeast, fruits, spices. There is bit more citrus in flavor and also very faint hint of caramelly notes typical for Amarillo. Overall: this is really similar to the classic Duvel, maybe more citrus in aroma and flavor, but not really that different. I actually prefer the regular one to this.

slightly opalescent pale yellow colour, medium sized, dense still not cream white head; aroma of grapefruit, tropicl fruits like lichee and mango, maybe some tangerine, too, grains, pine notes and hints of vegetables; bittersweet taste with the same notes and spicy peppery-alcoholic aftertaste; incredibly fruity! - almost like a new-world IIPA; I’m fully amazed!
