Bottle at the Dirty Old Sock Tasting, Den Haag, December 2014. Poured a clear dark brown with a lots of life and huge frothy light tan head. The aroma is malt, yeasty notes and light fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry mineral liqourice malt palate and a lingering bitter finish.

Opaque, brown/black beer with a decent head. Toasty, malty aroma. Surprisingly light both in body and flavour for a 6%-er. Chocolate, a little dried fruit, some coffee and malt with some berry flavours to give it a bit of an edge. Maybe a little liquorice too.

On gravity at the Tewkesbury winter beer festival, 7/2/2014. Jet black with a slight, off-white head. Plenty of chocolate, some dark fruits, toasty malts and a dryish finish. Very smooth drinking.

Bottle. Black body with a beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of filter coffee, blueberry and blackcurrant. Flavour of coffee, underripe plum and liquorice. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft carbonation. A tasty Stout with a nice hoppy edge. Improves as it warms.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours an opaque very dark brown, not quite black, with a thin tan head that quickly goes. Masses of roasted notes on the aroma, plus big liquorice and coffee notes too. Liquorice gets bigger with the taste, alongside a dark chocolate sweetness. Dangerously drinkable, with a very dry finish. Good stuff.
