Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah @ Broken Benzai tasting. Clear mahogany red to amber color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, some caramel, brown sugar and a touch of alcohol. Average to medium body and carbonation.

Odense catch-up from the cellar. Malty aroma with a herbal touch and a metallic note. Sweet malty flavour with bread and caramel and a slightly sharp hop note

Dark red-brown colour. Aroma of dark malts but also some dried fruits. Flavour has a similar fruity edge adding some depth to a pleasant and full flavoured bock.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear ruby copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of raisin, plum, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, brown bread, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of raisin, plum, apple, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, toffee, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, apple, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, toffee, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of malt and fruity/earthy yeast ester flavors; with solid robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good doppelbock style. Good balance and complexity of malt and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

licht caramel/rood bruin met witte kraag. aroma komt overeen met de o zo vele oost-europese graan/mout bieren, komt wat goedkoop over, tevens wat caramouten. De smaken zijn beduidend beter dan het aroma,caramelzoetigheid met kruidige en smaakvolle body, lichte toffee, gedroogd fruit/pruim, medium body, glad van textuur, lage co2, en de afdronk bevat een bittertje naast de kruidige zoetigheid

Brown colour with a medium formation of a light beige head with short duration. aroma has notes of toasted malts, dry fruits, nuts and almonds, some molasses. Flavor is light sweet at ht beginning, with a decent maltiness with toasted notes, caramel and some bready notes. The final is slightly sweet joined with caramel notes and with a lightly sweetness.

Flasche vom Marktkauf-Getränkemarkt Einbeck. - Kupferbraun. - Vollmalzig-karamelliger Antrunk, gefolgt von dem für Einbecker Böcke typischen krautig-fruchtigen, gut bitteren Aromahopfen. Schön bitterer Nachtrunk. - Erstaunlich, wie gut Karamel und Aromahopfen hier harmonieren - in Einbeck sind echte Könner am Werk. Der Einbecker Urbock ist freilich noch besser - da kommt der Hopfen noch besser zur Geltung.

Wiederholung: 24.10.2014. Flasche (33 cl). - Tiefes Kupferrot mit goldenem Schimmer, klar; kurzlebiger Schaum. - In der Nase Karamelmalz und erdiger Hopfen. - Antrunk stark karamelmalzig, nussig und süß, zugleich kräftig hopfenherb aber ohne feine Hopfenaromen bis auf eine leicht holzige Note. Durchschnittlich rezent. Würzig-süßlicher, derb hopfenbitterer Abgang. - Dieser Doppelbock ist kein Genuß - zu karamelsüß, zu grobschlächtig gehopft und im ganzen viel zu eindimensional geraten. Fällt stark gegen die anderen Einbecker Bockbiere ab. - Bewertung: 2,7.

Neuverkostung, 29.12.2017: Flasche. - Immer noch etwas derb aber doch von beträchtlicher malziger Tiefe und sehr aromatisch gehopft. Verdient eine bessere Bewertung.
