De Koninck Winter is a stronger variation on the 'Bolleke'. It contains more dark and roasted malts (more plato's), also giving it a higher percentage of alcohol.

Draft. A pretty decent winter ale, lots of sugar spice and caramel. Pours dark, not a whole lot else to say.

Cafe De Nieuwe Roos Ootmarsum, tap. Served way too cold to determine the aroma. Nice caramel flavor. Hoppy and the typical Koninck yeastiness. Sweetish and a bit thin, but a fine session beer.

Clear amber brown colour, large foamy beige head, half-way lasting, good lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, fruity, light caramel. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter, toffee, light red fruit. Malty bittersweet finish, roasty, spicy notes. Okay strong ale, despite its name I don’t consider this as a winter beer .
