Tap at the OBER Kerstbier festival, Essen 2014. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is malt, yeast, rich tropical fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry yeast mineral aspirin citrus palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at BBF 6, 27/09/14. Lightly hazed rich amber with a big beige covering that retains well. Nose is woody, spice, must, dark berry tang. Taste comprises dark red berry skins, earthy, musty wood rinse. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light booze in the close but ultimately doesn’t deliver a lot ABV considered.

Belgian-style barley wine with thin but stable, cream white, delicate head and brownish copper colour, hazy. Complex and pleasant aroma of candi syrup, orange liqueur, honey, peach, cognac, butterscotch, pineapple, pepper; sweet candi-ish taste with medium carbo, very fruity, supple caramelly malt base, long herbal hoppiness, dry with tingling but not astringent, warming brandy-like alcohol. Very good indeed.

On tap @ Haandfest 2013. This is a cloudy dark orange one with a small but lasting beige lacing top. Smells of red wild fruits, some drops of vinegar and grapes. Not the most stunning aroma I've ever smelled, but its fair enough. It has a mild oily mouthfeel and a average carbonation level. Quite mouthdrying, almost a bit astringent in a way. Sweetness with a wood sourness. Mild of that kind. More grape zest with pine juice and grass. Not to impressive to be honest. 25.05.2013

Tasted @ Animal. Orangish colour with a medium lasting off-white head with nice lacework. Aroma has light yeasty notes, strong caramel malts with notes of sweet wine and red fruits. Flavor is sweet at the beginning but not cloting, very fruity with notes of ripe red fruits and grapes, cloves and spices, slightly barreled hints and with a high presence of caramel. The final is slightly bittery with a good presence of caramel with long duration. Bready, dense and creamy on palate.
