Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold, and dark. The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti's notoriously roasty backbone, and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle creates a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a gentle beast.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Milk chocolate and espresso aromas. Creamy dark chocolate covered dried fruit and oatmeal upfront turning to hot mocha in the lasting finish.

On tap at the Stone 17th anniversary festival. Black in the glass, topped by a small dense, tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and a faint touch of cooked vegetables. Warming, full bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Roasted, bitter finish. A pretty nice one indeed. 130817

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a thin brown head. Anise, charred, chocolate, a bit smoky, oaty, raisin, dark fruity aroma. Plum/grape/grape, dark chocolate, fairly sweet, burnt malty, anise flavor. I don’t enjoy this nearly as much as the other versions but it’s ok.

Thanks to Beer Savant for sharing a bottle during his 50th birthday bash. Brownish-black pour with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing. Roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and subtle dark fruit. The finish is roasty and smooth with a malty aftertaste. Good beer all around.
