Bottle, Systembolaget. Black with a creamy tan head. The aroma was nice with roasted malt, chocolate, some cocoa and toffee. Similar taste. Also some fruit and licorice. Almost a full body on this one. The mouthfeel was creamy. Once again a lovely Yeti.

Smell is malty with roasted malts, peppery wood, burnt cookies, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt grains, dry wood, pine needles, hay and hints of resin and oatmeal cookies. Taste is bitter and malty with roasted malts, burnt cookies, pine needles, resinous wood, dark roast coffee, bitter cocoa powder, salty liquorice candy and hints of soil and burnt grains. Mouthfeel is round, velvety, fat, soft and near full bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt cookies, resinous wood, burnt cookies and hints of liquorice. 22oz bomber pours with a deep dark body that supports a full dark colored mocha head of foam that leaves behind spotty lacing. The aroma offers up big dark roasted malts, burnt malts, dark roasted coffee and a modest degree of earthy dark chocolate. OK Yummers. The taste is typical Yeti (even though it has been years since I last had one, too long) where its smooth and rich and bold in all the right ways. I get firm dark roasted maltiness, some burnt malts and a tasty chocolate note. There’s some dark roasted coffee hitting about midway and helping to take this to a rewarding finish. Typical greatness here. The one knock is the price point. One aspect of Yeti that made it great to me was the sub $6 per bomber price point (pre 2009 I think). This puppy is $11, what gives?

On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a jet black with a medium dark brown head. Aroma brings out loads of oats and dark roasted malt. Not as much hops on this version, nor any woody notes. Flavour brings out loads of woody roasted malt, moderate oats, and a considerable hop profile. Not all that different from the regular Yeti -- just more oaty and less hoppy. Fantastic stuff.

Bomber, thanks Brenn79. Bottled 6/24/13; about three months old; I really wanted to age this but I’m getting low on shit to rate! Aroma is strong in (descending order) chocolate, leather, molasses, licorice. Pours opaque black with a one finger tan head that recedes after a minute, leaving a ring of foam. Taste starts out sweet before turning bitter. Definitely roasty, as described. Unlike most of the Yetis in this series, the bitterness isn’t out of hand. A little vegetal, but it’s not all that bothersome. I get the raisins, but if I hadn’t had just read the label, I wouldn’t have guessed they were in there; they’re very much in the background. Oily mouthfeel, full body. Definitely my favorite Yeti yet. The relatively toned-down bitterness is very much welcome, although it’s still pretty fucking bitter for a sweet stout style. Addendum: the raisins become prominent after it warms up.

Bottle - thanks tricyclist! Pour opaque black with a medium black head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is hella roasty, lactose, cocoa, cigarettes, dark fruits. Flavor is the same, not much sweetness to my tastebuds, but a lot of bitterness. Some astringence that diminishes as the beer breathes a while. Full body, characteristic silky oatmeal mouthfeel. Some abv heat. Nice
