Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold, and dark. The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti's notoriously roasty backbone, and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle creates a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a gentle beast.

Big brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet roasted, dark malts, roasted grain, chocolate, burnt caramel, coffee, rye bread, rubber, hints of licorice. Taste is sweet roasted, dark malts, roasted grain, sour coffee, grass, hops, dark sugar, ashes, burnt caramel, bark, rye bread, hints of unripe banana. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Nice, but too burnt as usual...

650 ml bottle I purchased at Systembolaget (via order) a little while back. Sampled on February 22, 2014.Black color, dark brown fluffy lasting head that leaves lacing on the glass. Sweet, smooth, raisin taste. Some alcohol on the tip of my tongue. Sweet, chocolate, cocoa aftertaste. Smooth, soft, rich mouthfeel, medium bitterness.A lovely beer, very nice, a shame I only managed to get my greedy hands on the one bottle. Glad I got to drink one though.

Bottle. The point of adding oatmeal to a imperial stout is to smoothen the taste aswell as the texture (I guess). In this beer, however, the oatmeal works as a base for the roasted malts and spices to play its game one by one, which turns it into a rather unbalanced brew.

Bottle. Pours black with a light Brown head. Smooth and drinkable which is nice, but the alcohol and roasted malts makes it rather rough. Some bitterness, dark fruits and vinousity.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 6/25/2013. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dark brown head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, char, toast, raisin, molasses, oats, dark bread, herbal, pine, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and moderate hop/raisin notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, char, toast, oats, dark bread, molasses, raisin, herbal, pine, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, char, toast, molasses, oats, dark bread, raisin, herbal, pine, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic balance, complexity, and robustness of intense dark/roasted malt flavors with moderate raisin and hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and moderately chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding imperial stout as expected. Fantastic complexity and balance of intense dark/roasted malt flavors with moderate raisin/hop presence; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Pitch black, dark brown head. Rainy licorice aroma. Sweetish with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Coffee and tar, but sticky raisins disturbs. Long bitter finish.
