Wisseltap at De Hofnar. As Scheveningse Winterbock 6.5%. Clear chestnut brown with warm red hue and offwhite fluffy head. Sweet malts, caramel, figs, dates, licorice, mild spices, laurel, cloves. Tap at the Brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown witn a thin broken white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is caramel malt, sweet raisins. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich malt bitter, yeasty, chewy, earthy over ripe fruit palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. One of the better Brouwcafe beers IMO. Nicely balanced with just the right level of sweetness.
