Every year since its inception in 1992, we strive to honor the original Bourbon County Stout recipe. And, 30 years later, we continue Gregory Hall’s legacy and passion for making the best beer possible, starting with the best barrels the bourbon trail has to offer. This year, our Imperial Stout is aged and blended from freshly emptied bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, and Buffalo Trace distilleries. Expect flavors of vanilla, dark chocolate, toffee, molasses, almond, and dried fruit.

Malm� May 2024 tasting - dark sweet and roasted malty with opulent silky chocolate, layers of fudge and caramel malty sweetness, full bodied, bourbon laced intense malty finish. Lovely as always.

Malm� April tasting - dark sweet malty with intense sweet chocolate, lots of sweet caramel and cakey malts, full bodied, big bourbon infused kick into the malty finish, lovely. Goes great with the chocolate cake ??

Dry, roasty and heavy with licorice, molasses, earthiness, some bourbon, vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Balanced, but surprisingly OMT-heavy old skool BA IS.

From bottle at dark night shared tasting in Kristiansund 14.03.25. Ebony. Brown head is quickly diminishing to nothing. Aroma and bitter and sharp taste of roasted malt, bitter grapefruit. American oak, Bourbon, booze and hints of cough medicine.

Bottle. Deep, dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma was complex, with dark roasted grains, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is mocha, vanilla and malty good.

aroma is rich chocolate, molasses, and vanilla. flavour is again, very rich, lots of chocolate, ad vanilla, quite sweet, but in a really nice way. aftertaste is kinda smokey with some coffee and chocolate. nice bitterness in the end, not too much, but just enough. mouthfeel is thick, and oily. just a superb stout.

2016 bottle at 13.8% abv. Ink black with a small brown head that disappears quickly. Roasted malt and strong bourbon aroma with creamy dark chocolate, oak, vanilla, raisins, mocha, toffee, bit syrupy, some liquorice, more bourbon and wood in the finish. Flavour is sweet with a mild bitterness and warming booze. Body is full and thick. Mouthfeel a bit sticky. Great balance and smoothness, heavy on the bourbon but no sign of sharpness. The definition of fabulous barrel aging. 2018 bottle sampled on 23-11-2018, still quite young. A bit sharper and less smooth than the aged 2016.

Аромат хороший и сильный, много бочки, дерево, кофе и шоколад, как будто нотка от дымка, легкая сладость от бурбона. Цвет черный, даже угольный, пенка небольшая кофейная. Вкус весьма сбалансированный, есть кофе и шоколад снова, немного йода при глотке, легкая сладость от бурбона, много бочки на финише. Немного как будто чернослива появляется в конце, достаточно сложный вкус но нету ничего необычного.
