Vicaris Winter is a dark brown beer with a beautifully coloured head and rich aroma. Like the Vicaris Generaal, it is brewed using three varieties of malt and two hops. Our winter beer is the only Vicaris beer to which herbs are added and is therefore ideal for savouring during cold winter nights. The use of a specific yeast strain, the complexity of the malt varieties and the addition of liquorice and star anise give this beer the most complex flavour pallet of the whole Vicaris range.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. 2018 Winter Edition. Pours a very dark brown colour with a slight red tinge, thinnish but creamy looking beige head. Nice lacing. Rich looking beer. Aroma is roasted malts, dry dark fruits, cherries, plums, liquorice, coffee, chocolate, slight alcohol. Taste is similar with more pronounced roastness, liquorice and chocolate. Port wine, rum, raisins, prunes and wood also in the taste. Dry finish. Lots of flavours. A winter warmer. Nice sipper.

2013 bottle cellared until 2019. Creamy tan head stayed all the way in a dark brown still body. Huge aroma of malt, fruitcake, demerara, berry & dark spirits. Full bodied, velvet smooth on the palate & on the back. Heavy malt, demerara, coffee hints, fruit cake, rum & spice tastes.

Bottle. Cloudy. Deep brown. Tall dense head of beige colour. Aroma: fine candy, spicy yeast, dried pear, some bread and chocolate. Medium body. Taste: relatively dry. Fruity, bready, spicy, vinous, warming. Very good.

Many thanks for this winter beer to tderoeck. Vicaris Kerst Vintage 2010, bottle 750ml. Fantastyczny zapach pieczonej gruszki z cynamonem, nalesniki z jablkami, cydr niefiltrowany, mnostwo jablek i tarty jablkowo-gruszkowej. Wyglad rubinowo-czerwony, ciemne, metne po nastepnym dolaniu, Piana srednia i srednio trwala, ale za to oblepia kielich. Przyprawy, galka muszkatolowa, nieco pieprzu czerwonego wyczulem sporo szarlotki, jablecznika itp. Fajne, rozgrzewajace alkohol doskonale ukryty, a moze zrobil przez te 8 lat co do niego nalezalo. Pite w temperaturze 10 stopni a nie jak jest zalecane (6-9) wraz z frytkami na sposob belgijski, ale samemu zrobione, smazone na naturalnym smalcu gesim, posypane ziolami prowansalskimi. Mniam, mniam

Bottled at TEJA tasting. Deep mahogany colour, rich creamy head. Caramelly nose. Sweet with full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and butter, some grain and marzipan. Licorice root dominate the finish.

2012 version. A deep dark ale with a thick frothy lacing brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with loads of dark fruits, coca cola, plums, alcohol warmth, faint licorice. In mouth, sweet fruity caramel malt with light candy sugar, dark fruits, molasses, plums, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. BB 21/09/15, and still solid. Bièropholie imports.

Flaska från belgiuminabox. 2015 vintage. Mahognyfärgade, klar, lågt beige skum. Doft av kanderade mandlar, honung, torkad frukt, alkoholvärme och rostade nötter. Inte så söt smakbits. Fat, frukt och nötter med en lite träig torr eftersmak. Gott
