Petrus Aged Pale is a 100% foeder beer, aged for 24 months in our oak foeders. It has been the reference for sour beers for years. Moreover, ever since the establishment of the brewery, this beer has been used to blend with other beers to give them fresh, slightly sour flavours and aromas.

Old rating from 12-06-16 - 330ml bottle, picked up on my Belgium trip last year. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white foamy head. Aromas of oak, sour, winey & apples. Tastes is sour with grain, fruity, citrus, funk, oak & earth. Very mild bitterness. Aftertaste is long & sour.

Bottle at the Beer Bistro.
Clear, golden pour, with a small white head. QUite a woody, funky aroma. Quite a bit more sour than i expected. Some really nice tart, fruity, funky aromas and flavors. Also it was surprisingly refreshing, and very easy drinking. Very impressed.

Pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of sour fruit, vinegar, some funky elements. Reminds me of dry white wine.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sour. La finezza olfattiva è elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana medio-fine. Il liquido appare limpido. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è di media potenza. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. Al palato prevalgono impressioni di erbe aromatiche, acetico, verdure cotte e sour.

Аромат обычный, слегка кислый, ягодный, яблочный и квашенный. Цвет вообще чистый и золотистый, как у лагера. Вкус слегка ядреный от кислоты, она немного лимонная и яблочная, но обычная. Только солод в послевкусие что то необычное для данного стиля. Ну а в целом неплохое пиво.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Clear golden coloured brew with an great sour taste and some hints of fruitiness.
