Broeder Jacob Double Port is the first Belgian beer to be fortified with port. This brand new combination has brought something new to the beer landscape. The dark and full-flavoured beer has a subtile aftertaste of walnuts and produces a unique taste explosion that can develop to the flavour of a true vintage. The beer is fortified with the exquisite Tawny port Portal d’Azenha. This elegant and delicate port matures for at least five years in oak barrels. Enjoy this exclusive beer! EBC 120.

Aroma of bready malt, caramel, sweet dried fruits, prunes, oak, raisins, grapes, port, some alcohol. Flavour is cloying sweet and a little boozy with a light bittersweet finish. Sweetness is way too much.

Fles gedeeld door Inoven. Het is een troebel donkerbruin bier met een medium beige schuimkraag. Het aroma heeft een hint van port. De smaak is chocolade achtig met tonen van pruimen en rozijnen.

Smell-weak malt, caramel. Foam- thin, large in mouth, caramel, malt, sweetness. The Head is large, white-brown color. Appearance - generic red bottle cap. Clear ruby color, some active carbonation. From - pint Price- 2.99 for 0.33 l Taste - malt, caramel, sweetness, alcohol, faint roast, more malt, Belgian tones. Alcoholic, but overall palate makes up for it. Fine strong Belgian. Rounded score up a bit.

Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Label says ‘Winterklokje Cloche d’hiver’. Pours a dark chestnut brown colour with a medium sized fast dissipating beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, port, caramel, liquorice and molasses. Taste has more of the same notes again, quite woody and winey, noticeable alcohol with added notes of tobacco and brown sugar. Medium to full body. The more i drink of this beer the more cloying it becomes. Ok but i won’t be in a hurry to try again.

On tap at Gollem - Amstelstraat, pours a hazy dark amber with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out dark fruits, candied sugar, and caramel. Flavour is quite sugary, with lots of caramel, light port, tartness, and Belgian yeast. Too sweet, in cloying territory. It's not bad though.
