Brace yourself. Denogginizer is a massive Double IPA that’s sublimely hopped with an over-the-top dosing of dank, sticky, West Coast hops. With just enough malt backbone to keep the big, bold, resinous hop monster in check, be careful, you might lose your head to the Denogginizer.

Tap @ Beer Temple, sample size, shared with Abijen & MarcodL. Hazy amber color. Uneven white head. Aroma’s: resin, malty sweetness. Retronasal there’s hoppy sourness and malty swetness. Flavor is moderate bitter, not very outspoken. Rather strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Finishes rather dry and rather bitter.

Draft at beertemple. Golden pour. Aroma of pine, bitter hop and some malt. Thin flavor of caramelised malt, pine, raisinous hop and some mild citric fruit. Expected more from this.

Dark orange pour with a tall beige head that gives way to a lacing that sticks to the side of the glass. Dank and piney smell, with notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit and salt. Bitter-sweet taste, with notes of grapefruit, gooseberris, unripe apples and herbal hops. The alcohol is present and noticeable, otherwise this would have been a much better beer.

Bottle at Gordon Biersch - Oakland airport. Surprising find, pricy, but worth it. Medium golden body, small creamy head, curtains of lacing on the glass. Dank, funky, hoppy, but still can detect the solid malt backbone. Lingering bite, mildly dry, but where’s the heat? I’m sure it will catch me later. Deserving of its high marks.

Draught at Eatrellita’s in Palo Alto. Pours clear orange with white head that dissipates bit leaves slight patterns on the glass. Aroma is assertive pine and moderate citrus. Flavors leans to heavy orange and overt piney resins. Moderate caramel malt and residual sweetness balance nicely. There is a high bitterness on the back that I did not like.

Keg at Jupiter. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy off-white head. Rich citrus hops in the nose, pine. Medium sweet flavor with bready malts, pine, light bitter grass, papaya, melon, orange. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming and resinous finish, lots of juicy citrus. A nicely rounded DIPA.

Draught at Jupiter. Clear amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, mango, light biscuit and light grain. Taste is light sweet and medium to high bitter with notes of citrus, caramel, light booze, pineapple and grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice but too malty for my taste.

Bottled 01/22/15, shared by Werckmeister at Bratislava Slovak-Austrian RB Tasting, thanks!
Amber, clear body, with a big, frothy, lacing, yellowish head.
Aroma of grapefruit, pine, orange, biscuit, grass.
Taste follows this, with more honey like malts.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes bitter-sweet, zesty, piney, sweet malty.

Very nice, although I was expecting a bit more. Straight, with some hop kick, balanced by lots of smooth malts. Quite far behind my favourite IPAs, but still enjoyable.
