KOMES PORTER reflects the history of brewing, referring to the 18th century tradition of brewing porters in the Baltic states. At their prime, Baltic porters represented one third of the market, which is the best evidence of their popularity. We offer you a well-balanced, dark, strong beer with a distinct flavour. Slow fermentation at low temperatures in open vats, coupled with long (at least 3 months) maturation have resulted in the beer’s character and complete, complex nature. The Porter’s bouquet matures further in the bottle. Time is on its side.

Black color with medium beige head. Aroma: caramel, roasted malt, chocolate liquor, slightly higher ABV, black forest cake. Taste: caramel, sweet coffee, red berries particularly cherries with chocolate and cream. Full body, low to moderate carbonation, moderate bitterness. Tasty, complex, pleasant surprise.

Warka 31.12.2023. Alkohol akurat mocno wyczuwalny i drażni. Goryczka tępa, alkoholowo-chmielowa. Ta warka średnia. Kormoran trzyma równiejszy poziom

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a little vanilla, gentle red fruits, and caramel bready malt. Flavour is very sturdy, with moderate roasted malt, a touch of vanilla, some burnt brown sugar, and toasted caramel. Dry, roasty, with a fruity, vanilla finish. Dry and sturdy mouthfeel. Very good.

Capped 500 from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a creamy/foamy medium tan head. Aroma of smooth dark toasty malt, dark fruits and perhaps a hint of chocolate. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is dark fruit, plummy fruit, with smooth toasted malt and some herbal thing - not anise, but that came to mind. It is not dry, but far from sticky sweet. Not exactly bitter, but the effect provides the equivalent. Probably burnt malt bitterness. This is extremely tasty. I'd say tasty ale, but it should be lager. Tasty whichever. BPs are about my favorite lagers.
