A dark, reddish brown beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has lots of dried fruits with notes of marmelade, dry wood and caramel. Taste has dried fruits. wood, some dark bread and herbs. Taste isn’t so sweet as could expected based on the aroma. Slightly warming. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation. Balanced, tasteful.

Tap @Brewdog Helsinki
Deep ruby color, medium-sized steady beige head. Aroma is acidic and berryish, underlying some caramel. Medium-bodied. Flavor has caramel in front then light acidic and berryish notes leading to short, even watery finish. I don’t think that these acidic notes are intensional.

Draught @ Black Door. Aroma has slightly tart cranberry juice and some malty tones. Flavour has sweetish berry juice, some caramel, sweet malty tones and menthol. Also the flavour feels slightly tart. Usually scotch ales are sweet but this is also tart at the same time. This has something in common with Silly Scotch. Not my thing, too much berry juice here.

(Keg at Black Door, 20150211) The beer poured dark reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, malts and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, caramel, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had malts, grass and bitterness. A decent malt-forward brew.
