My goal was to craft an ale of extreme balance with a delicate complexity that allows for contemplation while also providing quaffable refreshment. starting with a base of German wheat & pale malts this crisp slightly hazy foundation was then accented with a blend of Sterling & Citra hops providing a intricate blend of herbal grass & tangerine citrus flavors and aroma. to pull this all together and to complete the ’cleansing’ aspect of my vision i gently finished the ale off with a touch of white sage, lending a mild earthy spice character to the blend. of course let’s not forget our house saison yeast that brought all the elements together leaving a dry yet intricate finish.

750 ml bottle (my says 6,8% ABV). Golden body with a diminishing white head. Aroma is slightly funky, tropical fruit and perfume (in a positive way). Flavor is refreshing tropical fruit, citric fruit and spicy. No strong flavor, but very balanced and delicious. My definition of an American saison.

ACBF. Cloudy gold beer, residual white head. Herby and tropical fruit nose. Soapy tasting, chalky dry beer with some tropical fruit lost in there somewhere! Way too dry! Really not getting these Stillwater beers!

Bottle, 75cl, at Patricks. A nice two-finger white head sits on top of an unclear golden-orange body. The aroma is flowey with a good dash of fields of flowers. White sugar and tropical fruits and a cellar touch too. The flavor is pretty much the same, not as flowery, but equally sugary. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. A nice saison in the American way. 110331

On tap. Hazy golden with a white head. The nose is citrusy but also slightly spicy - perfumy kinda. The body is surprisingly light, again citrusy and fresh with a slightly yeasty edge. Dry and lightly hoppy finish. Again a beer in perfect balance. 140311

Shared by Tim. This was delicious, I really liked it. Did not record the batch, but probably relatively fresh. The pour looked beautiful with a big bountiful head, takes a while to fade. Gorgeous color as well, glowing yet not clear orange. Strong carbonation works well for another solid saison. And I just loved the sage complementing the hops, which were strong yet not aggressive. I could drink a whole damn bottle of this. Another hit for Brian.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a thin lazing white head. The aroma has notes of spices, flowers, malt, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, yeast, straw, minerals, and flowers, leading to a dry finish.
