Draught@Eulenspiegel. Ceramic mug. Mediumsized white head. Aroma is rather vegetably hoppy as well as bready malty. Flavour is hops, grass and some sweet malts. Balanced, but the vegetably notes makes it a bit unpleasant.

Bottle. Pour is a smokey orange-ish amber with a finger or so of beige head. Aromas are heavy German malt with a bit of a dusty edge to it and a little bit of a vegetable side. Flavor is a nice mix of dusty malt that tastes a bit like wheat or full grain bread with a touch of spice at the finish... almost a light pepper with some nutty flavors. Fairly nice, even if it is a bit subtle.

Bottle. Pours with a small off-white head and a hazy copper body. Strong aroma that fills the room. Berries right off the top with notes of grain, buck-wheat, caramel and a bit of orange zest. Taste is honey and sour mashed malt, with a bit of wet dog. A bit salty too with a lot of wheat. Light bodied and refreshing though. On the fizzy side.

bottle from a small drinks market in Rottweil, near the Black Forest. What a surprise to find such a speciality from Franconia here! Slightly hazy copper colour, small head. Very pleasant carbonation, rather low, but still nice. Malty background with some intensive hoppy and pleasantly bitter flavours. Hints of roasted malt. Delicious!

500 ml bottle purchased at Lukas Liquor in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is slightly chill hazed, orange-ish copper brown with a loose two inch off white head. Aroma of sweet hazelnut caramel faint, also some slight smokiness in there. Initially taste is watery sweet nuttiness. Nothing bad about the flavor, just a bit watery. As it warms things come together much better and there is great interplay between the bready toasty malt and the slightly bitter earthiness. Minerally throughout. The thinner palate makes this quite drinkable. Nice residual toastiness, earthiness really lingers nicely. Quaffable, nice session beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Probably dark amber, minimal head. Sugary and lightly spicy. medium bodied with spritzy, yetbold mouthfeel. Long grassy resiny bitterness with some aspartam and pine needles. A bit edgy.
