Adam is a recreation of a historic beerstyle. Originally made in Dortmunder, Germany, it was the first beer I produced when I opened Hair of the Dog. Rich in flavor, Adam is best served as a dessert beer. It is great with chocolate or cigars, or just a warm fire and good company.

Nice beer, slightly bitter to me for the style. Tastes as it looks, hazy, but good overall, not as great as the ratings on here. Hair of the dog portland ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone 3.7 (3.7 Oct 2017)- Beertenple ams⦠basiclally a barley, and a good one. Still at 3.7, maybe 3.8, very good beer, just a little ashy)

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Clear, dark red with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses and raisins. Rather sweet, malty, slightly smoky and a bit fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins and smoked ham, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and rather smoky and a bit boozy finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty!

Tap at Borefts 2017. Hazy dark brown with small beige head. Chocolate, lots of sweet malts, there's a lot of herbal things going on here more in a dusty and dried way than fresh and aromatic. Plums and flowers. Over medium sweet and quite bitter. Over medium bodied.

23/9/17: Thick and chewey. Fairly bitter, dry. A bit herbal, some licorice. Boozy and warming. Complex and tasty.
27/9/19: Been two years, and it's still just as enjoyable. Pretty sweet, very smooth, and a bit herbal. Hint of smokeyness, some nice bitterness. Very complex, yet nicely drinkable as well.
