500ml (thx, Farees!) @ Ryan's. 43rd birthday gathering.
Aroma: boozy, some sweetness, a bit oxidized maybe. Somehow woody.
Taste: alone the same lines, very intense, some sweetness and caramel, very boozy.
Overall: good one 👍

Medium brown. No head. A lot of alcohol and toffee jump out of the aroma. Nutty, some date notes, porcini, it's complex. On the palate, lots of alcohol but it's balanced with lots of sugars, again the mushroom, beef broth - so quite a bit of umami. The finish is hot, especially for a beer, but not unreasonable considering how much flavour and complexity there is here.

From backlog.Dark brown color, small head. Raisin, alcohol, sweet scent and taste. Full, smooth mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Warming alcohol. Nice and sippable.

Icebock aroma, caramel and candies. Full bodied, with nice warming alcohol kick, caramel flavor with lingering sourness, old beer oxidized in the end, it’s just an extra. Excellent.

Hazy dark mahogany color with small head. Strong aroma of apples, fruit flies, cider; medium sour. Full bodied; flavor of caramelized fruits, prunes, raisins, bitter oranges; very sweet and dense but not cloying, sour with moderation, boldly bitter, very woody with high tannin presence; the alcohol is probably less than announced, it’s not so evident.
I love it!
Although 5$ for 1.5oz is too much.

On tap at the Alibi Room for the 500th beer list celebration, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma surprisingly doesn't smell so busy, but rather brings out dark fruits, sweetness, and a little alcohol. Flavour doesn't taste like 30%, maybe 15%, with notes of caramel, liqueur, dark fruits and an obvious alcohol burn. Surprisingly pleasant, with no off-notes, nor the nasty vinegary quality present in Storm Flanders. Quite a nice gimmick beer.

Mar 25, 2026 (7/4/8/4/16=3.9): Poured from half growler, unopened courtesy of Farees for Sergiy's bday. Medium brown, no head. Mild caramel malt, woody, underlying booze, light oxidation, enjoy this more with some age, decent.
Mar 09, 2014 (7/3/7/3/15=3.5): 1 oz pour from the tap @ Alibi 500. Medium red brown with very minimal off-white head. Aroma quite sour, similar to the Flanders red ale with subtle alcohol nose. Sour taste, some cherry and apple, acetic, alcohol shows through minimally. Medium body, quick finish.
