I reviewed the original Shakespeare Stout and it got lost which is not surprising. Anyway I think the nitro version should be a separate entry. Both aromas and flavors are slightly sweet, dark malt with some roast and Cocoa. Body is chalky and super smooth. A little coffee in the finish. Very good beer.

Can at Christmas. Dark brown, small head. Slightly astringent dry dark roast nose. Very smooth bitterness with a lot of well-blended, well-rounded dark chocolate/black malts. That huge bitterness is really well balanced by the nitro oatmeal mouthfeel. Very tasty stout!

Can. Black color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, a bit restrained, delicate. Taste is the same, quite bitter in the back. Velvety mouthfeel with very nice nitro carbonation. Tasty!

Can: Almost black as milk, medium-sized, creamy and very stable off-white head, moderate to solid dryish bitter-sweet roasty nose with traces of freshly ground coffee, dried fruits underneath; robust bitter and mildly sweet flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering dry roasty-bitter finish. Pleasant drop...

Poured from 473mL can (canned 01/07/21). Black with full foamy tan head. Lots of roast malt, creamy texture, mild chocolate, light hops, oatmeal. Good, but not memorable.

473ml can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with limited brown foam, very fine. Aroma is coffee and chocolate, a little molasses. Body is average, with no carbonation. Taste is fairly roasty bitter, with a little sweetness too in the background. Final is fairly long roasty.

355ml bottle as Ezo Beer's Brown Bear Beer, in Beer Inn Mugishutei, Sapporo, Japan. Pours dark brown/plum, with almost no foam (some when pouring, quickly fading). Aroma is coffe and dark chocolate. Body is kinda thin with carbonation a little excessive, in my view. Taste is roasty, giving some bitterness but with a final sweetness. Finish kind of short.

Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical. Ordered from France?
