The Moinette Brune is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since its creation in 1986 this beer becomes more and more famous.
A melange of 4 special malts results into this unusual colour, light darkbrown going into russet. The aromas of hop and special malts are creating the dominating taste in this beer.
The Moinette Brune combines a slightly bitterness with a fruity touch.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for many months in your cellar, will transform this product into a quite surprising beer.

Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude, Veurne, Belgium. A dark ruby/brown coloured pour with a medium off white/beige head on top. Yeasty, malty, caramel, dark fruit taste/aroma. Not had this for many years, a lot sweeter than I remember. Decent enough gear from Dupont.

Hazy chestnut brown colour, beige foam. Nose of caramel, some banana, Dupont yeast. Taste is sweet, notes of dried fruit, hoppy bitterness, very well balanced. Great beer!

Pours slightly hazy dark ruby / copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with touches of caramel and fruity notes. Sweetish flavour of yeast, fruit, and caramel malt, with hoppy and roasty notes. Bitter, estery and acetic aftertaste. A decent Abbey Dubbel, although I prefer it sweeter.

Bottle from Belgian Beer Co, Stoke-on-Trent on 2nd April 2021. Pours a deep mid-brown with pale tan foam and spot lacing. Spicy malt aromas with resins, caramels and tart fruits. Nutty and fruity in-mouth with berries and hazelnuts. Just a hint of a citrus transient. A long finish of spicy maltiness. Full bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.
