A 33 cl example of this brew came to me from a seller in Belgium. Dubbels are good, up there with with quads and Belgian dark ales in my estimation. A dark copper-brown entry in my snifter, a light skim of tan foam. The smell is caramel and wheat bread. And then I taste toffee, malt, fig newton, grain, and a slight sweetness, light bitterness. Good without being top level.

From the bottle. Brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of candied sugar, toffee, sherry. Taste is mildly bitter with undertones of brown sugar, dark bread and gin. Medium body. Moderate. Smooth. Very nice.

23.05.2018 -- 0.75l bottle from bierlinie, 3€ (50%). pours a dark brown with a steady beige head. aroma of dried fruits, mostly prunes, brown sugar, wine. flavour of herbs, berries, prunes. sweet, surprisingly herbal and bitter for the style. nice. 07.09.2018 -- an old 0.33l bottle from alsace, bb 07.2017. a gusher. mild prunes and cinnamon.

0,33l bottle from Beergium. Red brown beer with small hazy head. Aroma has sour berries, toffee, belgium yeast and some alcohol. Taste is sour and earthy with some berries and fruits. Also some alcohol. Medium body.
